Introduction

The Local Organizing Committee presents and invites everyone to participate in three concurrent post-harvest events under the theme: a Sustainable Path toward Substantially Reducing Food Loss and Waste in Latin America and Caribbean. From April 1 to 5, 2019 at the premises of the Hotel Dall`Onder in the city of Bento Gonçalves, will be discussed with many professionals and other stakeholders in the post-harvest area the topics to better preserve and maintain the quality of what is produced.
With the simultaneous organization of three events – the III CBPMPC, the X Congresso Ibero-Americano de Tecnologia Pós-Colheita e Agroexportações and the First Latin America/Caribbean Food Loss and Waste Reduction Congress – we bear in mind a noteworthy association of the region around issues related to post-harvest of products in which Ibero-America has distinguished itself in diversified and qualified production for the supply of its domestic market and also with a solid share on more distant markets.
The organizing committee is committed to provide the best environment for the enrichment of technical knowledge and for the awareness of the urgent need to deal with food losses and waste. Besides the scientific aspects, the local committee has the firm intention that all attendees encounter unique experiences so that the participation in the three events becomes an occasion of professional and personal enrichment.
